Suwanee, Georgia Real Estate
A city of trees!
Suwanee, Georgia, located in Gwinnett County, has a growing population of over 12,000. With its close location to Atlanta Georgia, this city garners attention and for good reason.
The city of Suwanee has some of the best public schools. Lanier Middle School was recently awarded the "Platinum Award for Greatest Gain in Percentage of Students Meeting and Exceeding Standards." This school has a majority of its students at or above state required levels, 92.84 percent to be exact. On top of education, Collins Hill High School has been labeled number one by USA Today for its AAAAA Girl's Basketball team. These great educational gains are due in part to the tremendous efforts of the city's residents.
A shining example of community involvement may be the PlayTown Suwanee Park. Over 1,200 volunteers worked together to build one of the largest play areas for the city's children and nearly 10,000 individual hours were required for the operation. Though PlayTown Suwanee has one of the best stories, it isn't the only park in the city. Town Center Park, with a terraced amphitheater capable of seating 1,000, is the main location for the city's events. With plenty of space for gatherings, residents have the perfect location to get to know their neighbors.
Suwanee, Georgia is truly a city that cares about the environment. For the past 13 years, Suwanee has been named a United States City of Trees. This award is due in part to the residents insistence on the preservation of existing parks and the drive to create new ones. The Suwanee Creek Greenway is the perfect example of this. With 400 acres of parkland connected, and extensions planned, this Greenway showcases the spirit of Suwanee.
